Like many people, as a child I made use of the family camera. It was a Kodak Brownie Starmite that took 120mm film. Many years later I purchased a Praktica single lens reflex camera. This really brought me into the world of image making. Of course in this digital age, I have acquired many different cameras, each of which has its own unique way of rendering images. This is not a page about gear. I don’t do reviews. All cameras are tools and it is really you as the individual that composes and uses the camera to draw your own pictures.

“It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson

I have always fed my creative streak through the use of many types of media… painting, drawing, and of course my favourite which is photography. I also, create imagery through words… and to me just as a photograph is worth a thousand words… a word through its magical qualities, is worth an infinite number of images.

Without language and words we would have no way of truly understanding our world. Words provide us with context and draw on our emotional response to what we see to make sense of the world. My words describe how I see and react my world… I hope you enjoy both my words and my images.
